Who it is for
It is for anyone who wants to understand an appliance's running cost: households checking a space heater or air conditioner, people comparing appliances before buying one, and anyone curious about which devices add most to their electricity use. It is written in US English and defaults to US dollars, and you can enter your own electricity price and choose another currency for display.
What it does
- Estimates energy use in kilowatt-hours (kWh) from information you provide.
- Multiplies that energy by the price per kWh you enter to estimate running costs.
- Offers a general calculator, tools for specific appliances such as refrigerators and standby power, and a dashboard that compares the appliances you add. Your list is saved only in your browser.

What it does not do
- It does not read your meter, look up electricity tariffs or convert between currencies.
